Cathleen is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, and song writer from County Down. Raised in a small village near the Mourne Mountains, Cathleen comes from a musical family and has been singing and playing traditional music from a young age. She received early tutelage in the Newcastle CCÉ and later in the Armagh Piper’s Club. Cathleen’s passion is traditional singing. She has won various Ulster & All-Ireland singing titles at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and is a current All-Ireland Champion.

Cathleen is also a fine fiddle player regularly competing at All-Ireland level in Fiddle Slow Air. Over the last couple of years Cathleen has been making a name for herself on the local music scene writing her own songs. The past year alone she has had the pleasure of supporting acts like Niall Hanna, Clare Sands, Mary Coughlan and Stephen Rafferty.

A major highlight for Cathleen has been winning the Molloy Award at the Birmingham Tradfest. This has given her a boost of confidence in her own song writing and she looks forward to returning to the Tradfest with some new compositions this year.
